The Fresh Market: My Favorite Grocery Store



Fresh Market was founded in 1983 in Greensboro NC to be like a small European style market with fresh bread, deli meats, great produce and butchers.It is now a national chain, as a Brit I adore it as I can get fresh wholegrain breads, European cheeses, one is called the heart of England and fuses a bunch of British cheese together. There are fruits from around the globe my favorites right now are papaya and blood orange, imported coffees, and chocolates. Need I say more if you have one in your neighbourhood go check it out.

    Is that Okra? The only place here where we get fresh okra is in the Indian store!! You must ask your MIL to get the seeds from the Indian variety-they are dark green and very tender!

    Sweta: its okra chips cool snack right? we can get okra in all grocery stores here, its grown a lot in this area, oh Indian Okra dishes are so nice, I cook it with onion, green chilli and coconut.

    I wish I had this market around me! I always "imagine" I was raised the lovely European way...shopping daily or fresh or as I need it. I do try with what's available :) Thanks for stopping by to pay me a visit!

    Fresh Market was our favorite store when we lived in North Carolina! I miss it so much - the quality of their fresh produce and meats was always consistently topnotch. There wasn't a section that wasn't outstanding. [Sigh]
