Klout's interesting and fun to see how others are rated but I would never do heaps of promotion just to increase my Klout score. I blog for fun and for friendship.
If I were looking for a job or my profession was marketing blogs, I'd probably have a much different view.
Thanks Rebecca for bringing our attention to all these social media stuff. Klout is definitely a good to know and interesting to find out one's score but I would not be obsessed by it :)
Very interesting, Rebecca. Thanks for telling us about this site. I can't say I'm comfortable with all the information about us that's out there, but that certainly is the trend and I expect it to get worse over time. I'm curious and will go check it out.
Thanks for explaining this in more detail. I never truly understood it completely. I just checked my score...it said it was 56. That doesn't seem to bad :)
Anonymous well said its should be about having fun is for me too :-) Biren my pleasure fun to pass along what I learn along the way Cathy I agree strange to be rated when we don't even realise it Brandy that is good :-)
Interesting & timely. I've been checking my Klout score from time to time, but do think it's becoming more important. Just started giving (and getting) some +1s. Not sure where it's going -- remains to be seen. But as a travel blogger with monetization goals, I want to maintain/improve my score --- just in case it does matter to advertisers and other travel industry folks.
I'm aware of it, but not obsessed with it - I know a lot of people that kind of are :) Your vblogs are very informative Rebecca - thanks for sharing your expertise.
My husband just mentioned to me about Klout last weekend and so I checked my klout standing. It was interesting to know that I was in 51 but checked it just now because of your post and it's now 59... hmmm interesting! Thanks for sharing Reb.
Thanks for the informative youTube segment, Rebecca. I have not heard of this, but I'm glad that you explained it (so thoroughly). I'll check it out. There are advantages and disadvantages to this as there are with everything else in life. However, I'm really thinking that there is far too much information about ourselves out there for others to read and know and I find my privacy slipping away. Did you know that for the first month ever, there is a significant REDUCTION in FB users as more people are opting OUT of FB due to potential hacking. I took ALL of my personal info off to attempt a little bit more anonymity!
Very interesting and informative, I have not heard of this. Of course I have only been out of book nerd status for a year or less, lol :) I will check it out...
