Sausage, Leeks and Mushrooms with Spätzle



This is a fun dish and really easy, I get sausages from Lidl as love the German flavor of them, its a great cool weather dish also nice with mashed potatoes. 

Ingredients: 
  • one pack of mushrooms
  • 3 medium leeks sliced
  • 1/2 an onion chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic chopped
  • one liter of beef broth
  • 2 tablespoon of plain flour to thicken the broth 
  • one park of German Bratwurst 
Method:
  1. sauté the onion, garlic and leeks in olive oil with the sausages for 10 minutes until the leeks are soft and sausage slightly browned, add the mushrooms for another 10-15 minutes 
  2. meanwhile heat the beef broth and make a paste with the flour and a little water and slowly add it little by little to thicken the broth to make a gravy. 
  3. add the gravy to the leek, sausage and mushrooms, 
  4. serve with mashed potato or spätzle and vegetables.
